Good Day

So far, So good. I know that this challenge has only been going on for four days but I think that I am doing well. A great conversation with my Mom about what the people on the farm are doing to slim down motivated me to jump back on to the workout video bandwagon on top of my morning treadmill. Today, Belly dancing! Tomorrow, Who knows!

Belly dancing at my weight is the funniest thing I have ever seen. Mostly I flail around, looking like a fool and laughing my you-know-what off. I suppose that is the point, to get rid of the you-know-what. Thank goodness the blinds are closed and my dear daughter was napping. I think that scene would have scarred her for life:) Oh well, I am sure that her mother will continue to do embarassing things in the name of weightloss.

Starting over, once again

I haven't been on in quite awhile. In the last year I have been pregnant (not great for weight loss :) and then have had the year off to spend it with my perfect daughter. From October until now I have spent the vast majority of the day sitting on my couch, watching T.V. and eating. It has not been pretty. I have regained all of the weight that I worked so hard two years ago to lose.

Last weekend I found some serious motivation. Money. My family has started the Big Fat Dutch Family Biggest Loser. At least 10 of my nearest and dearest are competing for an ever-growing pot of money. We are working on percentage of body weight lost so as to be fair to those who have less overall weight to lose. I find myself a little jealous that I have to lose 2lbs for every pound lost by some of the others. At the same time I recognise that everyone has the right to wish for improvement of their body and if this contest helps, then it is worth it. Overall it is about improving the health of our family.

That said, I plan to kick butt!
